Oone blueprints bundle update

The surprise extra that I was interested in has been added to this bundle - a big pack of plans for 221b Baker Street. It's fun, though a couple of things look a bit out of scale, e.g. a revolver on one of the tables that appears to be about 2ft long and ridiculously thick.

Another RPG bundle offer - The Dark Eye

This is a new offer of a game I've heard of before but don't know much about:

https://bundleofholding.com/presents/DarkEye

"The Dark Eye Bundle features the English-language edition from Ulisses Spiele North America of the leading German tabletop roleplaying game of heroic fantasy. The Dark Eye is Germany's premier FRPG, in continuous publication for more than 30 years. As a virtuous knight, elven ranger, or erudite mage, you'll rebuild the war-weary Middenrealm, marvel at the Lands of the Tulamydes, discover lost ruins in steaming jungle, or drive back the evil of the Shadowlands. Rescue innocent victims from cults of the Nameless One -- navigate labyrinthine intrigues at the Court of the Empress -- or defend border cities from the Orc Storm.

Ulisses funded new English translations of much of the Dark Eye line in a spectacular May 2016 Kickstarter campaign. This offer presents the core rulebook and many supplements and adventures set in Aventuria, a rich and believable setting inspired by Europe's medieval lore, forbidding landscapes, and fairytale castles.

We provide each ebook complete in .PDF (Portable Document Format). Like all Bundle of Holding titles, these books have NO DRM (Digital Restrictions Management), and our customers are entitled to move them freely among all their ereaders.

Ten percent of each payment (after gateway fees) is split evenly between the two charities designated by Ulisses Spiele, Doctors Without Borders and Bärenherz, a local home for terminally ill children in Wiesbaden, Germany.

The total retail value of the titles in this offer at launch is US$86.50. Customers who pay just US$9.95 get all four titles in our Player Collection (retail value $42.50) as DRM-free .PDF ebooks: the complete full-color 418-page The Dark Eye core rulebook (retail price $20) (and the free Quickstart Rules), plus the Aventuria Almanac (retail $10), Aventuria Map Set (retail $10), and Character Sheets Pack (retail $2.50).

Those who pay more than the threshold (average) price, which is set at $19.95 to start, also get our entire Game Master Collection with six more titles worth an additional $44, including the Aventurian Bestiary (retail $10.50), the full-length introductory scenario Revelations From Heaven (retail $10) and three short Heroic Works adventures (A Goblin More or Less, Kibakadabra, and The Molted Serpent, total retail $13.50), plus The Dark Eye Game Master's Screen with its accompanying Inns & Taverns booklet (retail $10)."

At least one more title will be added after launch. "When a title is added after launch, ALL customers who previously purchased the bundle automatically receive the newly added title, REGARDLESS of whether or not they paid more than average. This is their reward for buying early."

I'm not hugely into fantasy RPGs, I played way too many in the eighties and sort of lost the plot, but this looks pretty good, the art is excellent, and you get a huge amount for your money. And some things look like some actual thought has gone into them - for example, most of the depictions of women show them wearing sensible clothes for adventuring, with the balance of the sexes roughly even. The rules look comprehensible, though a little more complicated than I like, and (I repeat) you get a hell of a lot for your money. Recommended!

I wonder if there has ever been a German version of this offer - it might be interesting for linguists etc. or (of course) for German gamers, but since these bundles are organised by Americans I won't hold my breath waiting...
