I'm sceptical too, but if you think of it as a Kindle-killer with Apple becoming a rival to Amazon for books it potentially makes a lot of sense. The price mooted, around £150, is more than a lot of 7" Android pads that are already available, so it's obviously doable.

Forgot to say that I think it's more likely that this is disinformation (possibly from Apple) aimed at leveraging Amazon to more realistic business terms.
