How did I miss this..?

There's going to be a new series of The Clangers!

Promising lots of (whistled) swearing. Hopefully some decent stories too!

And Michael Palin as the narrator should be really good, I think.

So long as they don't CGI everything - the Clangers need to be cuddly, not scary.

Yay!!! Though they'll probably put it on a channel I don't have instead of one of the real channels (where it used to be of course). I found out how completely hopeless the BBC's iPlayer was when trying to follow Wizards And Aliens that way. Many of their programme uploads are broken and won't play (and my dysfunctional ISP doesn't help).

Cbeebies in the UK, US pre-school TV channel Sprout. I'd imagine there will be other options given the size of the fan-base.

"The £5m production is already under way, and is being co-produced by US pre-school TV channel Sprout, which will broadcast the programme in North America."

I'm worried about the US involvement; it could end up as another 'Thomas and the Magic Railroad', which I regard as an act of war by the US against the UK and Isle of Man.

I'm somewhat reassured by the involvement of Palin and Firmin. Fingers crossed anyway.
