Uses for a laptop?

My department's been given an old laptop, a Compaq 4100 with Windows 95 and 8mb RAM, I think something like a P75 or P133 processor but I'm not sure. Also unfortunately missing the battery and CD-ROM, and some of the keys don't work. Nevertheless it has a reasonably nice screen, I think 800x600 TFT colour, and seems to work in other respects. No USB, of course.

I doubt that we want to spend the money to get this working, add memory, etc. - the minimum spec we can use these days is 500 Mhz or so with 256mb - so I'm wondering if there are any charities etc. in the London area that might be able to use it for parts or something.

Any suggestions?

Most of the local charities I know are inclined to be very bitter about getting fobbed off with something like this, since they have limited tech time available. Even if I could stand DOS, I wouldn't want to get stuck with something this out of date; and they feel the same, by and large. I'd say it's probably destined for the recycler.

About what I thought.

A lot of modern or futuristic LRP games have a need for old laptops & notebooks, in working or non-working condition, as props. If you leave it till the 24th of this month, the pagga.com forum will be up and running properly again (the admins are all on holiday till then) and you could put a post up in the Bazaar section. Alternatively if you mentioned it in either the Waypoint or Riftworld sections (part of the bigger Ongoing Campaigns section), I'm sure someone would happily take it off your hands.

Unfortunately we were given it as a charity thing, we can't really give it away for RPG use.
