Lucifer

There's going to be a TV series based on Vertigo's "Lucifer" next year. Can't say I recognise any of the cast particularly.

Unfortunately it looks like they're following the Buddy Cop format - she's a cop, he's the devil, together they fight crime.

There's already a petition to ban it because it "glorifies Satan"

They have a story starring Satan and the only thing they can come up with is to have him solve crimes?

If anything, that sounds like the exact polar opposite of "glorifying" anyone or anything involved with this. If I were Satan, I'd fire my agent.

Well it's supposedly based on the comic Lucifer, but comparing the two, I feel they may have gone off script rather a lot.
(which is not necesserily a bit, izombie did something similar, but still...)

Oh boy, that looked terrible. Sort of a higher budget version of Constantine.

And on Fox. I give it 5 episodes?

It really does, doesn't it. Wankers.

Yeah. The single most unimaginative thing they could have done with the title.

I've not read the comic yet, but I assume he doesn't team up with a lady cop to solve crimes?

Not that I remember, but I only read a few issues.

Don't recognise the cast? I spotted three I knew.

Tom Ellis is best known as Miranda's love interest in Miranda Hart's TV series, but he was also in something creepy the BBC did a few years ago called The Fades. (And the lead in that was Iain de Caestecker, now Fitz in Agents of SHIELD.)

Lesley-Ann Brandt was a recurring baddie in the first season of The Librarians.

And D.B. Woodside was principal Wood in the final season of Buffy. Surprised you didn't know that. :-)

Actually he was the one I remembered about ten minutes after I posted the entry, but I was never a huge fan of the character.
