Star Trek news

CBS is going to run a new Star Trek tv series, debut in 2017.

But it's only going to be available on their paid subscription service. Apparently to be directed produced by the guy who directed produced ST: Into Darkness.

ouch.. your post is inaccurate compared to the website -

"The show is scheduled to debut in 2017, so it will just miss the 2016 celebrations of the franchise's 50th anniversary. It will air with a premiere episode on CBS and then become available on CBS All Access, a US on-demand streaming-video platform that costs $5.99 per month. It will also be distributed through television and other platforms worldwide. (Disclosure: CNET is owned by CBS.)" - not just on demand, just that it will be available on their on-demand.

Producer Alex Kurtzman is known for his work on the rebooted Star Trek movies. - not director. JJ Abrams is still the director of Star Trek Into Darkness... not Kurtzman. Kurtzman was one of the writers though, yes.

Did you read the article? ;)
