Not much of a surprise.

Boris Johnson is being touted as the most likely replacement for Cameron. So forget any idea of maintaining anything resembling a green belt, coherent housing policy, etc...

The worst part of it is that he's probably the best replacement the Conservatives can currently offer.

I think it might be Theresa May. I just don't know if they have any hope in hell of uniting the party behind Boris.

But yes, Boris will cheerfully slit all of our throats if it means more profit for his chums.

Yeah, Boris f*ed it up. It was supposed to be a close win for Remain, so that Boris could use the thinness of the margin to force out Dave. But he bungled it and won, so that instead of a master manipulator he looks like the clown he pretends to be. Theresa May is going to leave his broken body in a gutter somewhere (metaphorically speaking, of course), as a warning not to be too bloody clever.

Yep, it's painfully obvious Boris and Gove have absolutely no idea what to do now, or how this is going to work, or how in the hell the nation is going to achieve it.

Which, in fairness, I don't think anybody knows beyond 'It'll be a bloody catastrophe'.

I almost think Boris should be forced into the leadership. So he's ultimately held accountable.

It will tell us a ~lot~ if he doesn't try and become leader now.

I think he's possibly a disaster in the making - I think I simply don't know enough about the alternatives, I need to do my homework.

My money is still on May.

But honestly I'm not sure if any of them will want to preside over this now...

I don't really know enough about May, I hope she can bring something off if she does get the job.

Given that the majority of Tory MPs are supposed to be pro-Remain, I doubt that they would vote for Boris in a leadership election.

I hope you're right - I was not impressed by him as mayor.
