Since I don't use eBay's global shipping program much...

I have no idea how much they're charging for the Lego kit, which is about 3kg packed.

I'd be grateful if people outside the UK could check this and let me know what they're quoting for postage - not customs, which is going to vary with the price:

Just checked, it comes to £26.76 to ship to the USA. Yoiks! That's over half of what you want for it.

That's about the same as UPS and a bit cheaper than Royal Mail, depending on where you get your prices from - I think that the Royal Mail on line cost calculator is seriously broken, it's quoting £70+, but a courier booking company I use says £31-ish by royal mail.

Actually not as bad as I expected anyway.

It started off at £9.99, it's already been bid up and I think may end up topping £75 or £100. It really is that rare, apparently, which is why the price of delivery is less of a factor than in most of the things I sell. As of the last time I looked the bidders were all a LONG way from Britain.
