Cheap hard disk / dual layer DVD recorder from Lidl

If you live in the right parts of Britain (which I don't) there's what appears to be a VERY good offer from Lidl from Thursday onwards - a 160 gb hard disk recorder with dual layer DVD recorder for £149.99

It sounds pretty good, don't know the brand at all but the specification is very impressive and it has a three year warranty.

Targa is a cheap and cheerful German computer/electronics brand, a bit like tiny or similar over here.

Damn. I *knew* getting the car serviced was a mistake... :)

Oh well. Maybe it'll come round again next year...

I'm tempted by a Humax 8000 (at £119 from Hughes in Cambridge, reduced now the new 9200 (£229) is in). Smaller, and doesn't have a DVD recorder, but does have Freeview. My mother-in-law wants a Freeview box too, so we could effectively deduct the cost of our existing box if we bought the PVR and passed the old one on. (The 9200 160Gb and twin tuner, but if there are two different things we want to record at once we can still use a video, and I think 80Gb is enough that if we fill it, we accept we aren't ever going to watch it all and wipe it (or archive it to DVD via computer).)
But the arguments for a washing machine and/or dishwasher that work better than our existing ones miht be more powerful.
