A mystery solved

Yesterday I was in Kensington Gardens and noticed that there was police tape around a big section of the park, and six or seven officers on their knees apparently looking for something. Unfortunately the reason I was there was that I was testing a lens which turned out to be faulty, and none of the pictures I took of this were any good...

It turns out that the reason is that someone apparently found a human bone in the park - allegedly estimated to be about seventy years old, so probably not a recent murder etc., but I suppose they have to investigate. The weird thing is that I can't find anything about this on line apart from one blogger's bit of video, you'd think there'd be a news report or something.

70 years ago puts it in 1948 — but just a 3-5% error would shift it back to WW2, either during the Blitz or the V1/V2 campaign.

In which case it's probably an act of war, not (ordinary criminal) murder.
