Proving this journal's title is not entirely accurate...

Gacked from [livejournal.com profile] booster17

Go to http://shipbrook.com/onnotice to add eight names etc. to the notice board - I think it's supposed to be derogatory but I'm unfamiliar with whatever TV program it is and don't know for sure, so I just put my own stuff in.

Appears to be "The Colbert Report": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Colbert_Report_recurring_elements#.27On_Notice.27_and_.27Dead_to_Me.27

Now fixed.

The Colbert Show is the best on American Television right now. It's a parody/spoof of conservative talk news shows, and Colbert is freaking brilliant. That's his 'On Notice' board, things he's angry with or think should be, well, punished. Like bears, or the E Street Band.

Ah, I've heard interesting things about it but haven't had a chance to see it. Comedy Central is sometimes on CNN over here so it might come up.

Just out of interest, why is he angry with the E Street Band?

He's never explained that one. It's just ridiculous stuff, really. His character gets in a kerfluffle about something, so he puts it on notice. The list is evolving, from things people say to him or things he says on the news. He's actually a brilliant satirical interviewer. He can roast his guests from here to kingdom come--sometimes literally. One senator was trying to put the Ten Commandments in every room of the courthouse and Colbert asked him to name them all without looking. The Senator could only name three. Pretty pathetic, no? It's that sort of thing.

It's one of the few programmes I regularly download. I keeping wishing More4, who show The Daily Show in the UK, will pick up The Colbert Report as well.

Hope so - sounds interesting, and I get More4 on Freeview.

You can watch a lot of it for free on the Comedy Central website:
