Super?

Saw an ad for "My Super Ex-Girlfriend" last night and wondered if it was worth getting the DVD - anyone seen it?

It has one or two jokes, and Eddie Izzard as the supervillain ex-boyfriend of the superheroine has his moments, but fundamentally it is cheesy, sexist and just not funny enough.

Thanks - I had a feeling someone had said it wasn't very good, should have guessed it was you. I'll wait for a cheap copy, it'll turn up in charity shops etc. sooner or later.

It's ok, but as a throwaway rom com with some mildly funny bits - don't spend too much on it!

I think it is worth a rental for the shark scene alone, but I wouldn't buy it.

Only worth watching with wife/girlfriend or other suitable female relative or friend. A good idea poorly executed but still worth a viewing.

I thought it was terrible.
The actors are excellent, but not in this film.
The acting was poor, the directing was poor, the editing was poor.
The characters were weak. The story was weak.
Even the special effects seemed unecssarily goofy.
It was very campy.
I was quite upset I paid to see this movie.

Depending on how the final version was cut, it's either a story about a superhuman woman getting back at her now ex-boyfriend for cheating on her... or about a poor guy who dumped a woman for being neurotic and now she's using her superpowers to terrorize him. I remember that the information (and the direction of the trailers) changed drastically at one point from the former to the latter.

Given the comments I'm seeing? The latter is my guess.
