Drop Caps in Open Office

I'm giving Open Office a try for the Pantechnicon PDF since Word has started to throw a lot of wobblies on this PC, especially on documents containing loads of graphics. Anyone know how to make drop capitals work?

Not useful but I first read the subject as "Dog Craps in Open Office". My brain is weird...

I wasn't sure whether you meant creating dropped caps in Word or in your new editor (which I've not used). In Word it's dead easy. Just click on the paragraph, pull down the Format menu and choose "Drop cap". You get a choice of styles; pick one.
You can do the same thing in any word processor that will allow text boxes. Just create a text box with no border and with word wrap around it. Insert the first letter of the paragraph and size to what you want. Position and size the box appropriately at the top left of the paragraph.

Accurate positioning for the proper effect is actually quite difficult compared to Word though. In the event the PDF may not be happening due to excessive file size, but thanks anyway.
