Angel Drabble: Judgement

This is a sequel to my previous Nothing Left To Lose, you really need to read that first or this won't make sense.

100-word Angel Drabble. All characters belong to their respective creators and there is no intention to infringe their copyright. This story may not be distributed on a profit-making basis. Major Angel S5 spoilers up to You're welcome then very AU. Sequel to Nothing Left To Lose

Judgement

By Marcus L. Rowland

"You killed Cordy and took her body!" shouts Angel.

"The shell was dead," says Illyria, "this body a simulacrum. I have killed no-one..." She eyes him balefully and adds "...yet."

"It checks out," says Fred. "The hospital's been trying to reach us all day."

"This was meant for you," Illyria adds. "The shell knows what was to come."

"Someone wanted me dead?" asks Fred.

"Knox thought you the perfect host," says Illyria. She eyes Fred's figure, and adds "His judgement was faulty. This body is more pleasing."

"I'll kill him," shouts Gunn, running out.

Illyria doesn't try to stop him.

End

Ah, what a twist! I like it.

Nice.

It was difficult to decide whether to use the Leopard Seal of Approval for a dark fic or the Dolphin of Approval for a humorous one; I went with the dolphin because, as Illyria says, she killed no-one.

as Illyria says, she killed no-one.

She will, Speaker, she will. And Gunn is about to speak VERY harshly to Knox.

This is not the fluffy bunny version of Illyria, even with Cordy's memories and knowledge of what future was going to be, and a very faint hint of Cordy's personality - remember Cordy's reaction to finding out about Angel running Wolfram and Hart, and imagine her objecting with the power of an angry god.

This implies that you intend to continue exploring the theme. In something longer than drabbles, perhaps?

Cordelia’s impulsive decision, in the precursor to this, was entertaining and in-character. Here, though, you’ve opened the door to a lot more, and I wouldn’t at all mind seeing it. If that’s what you’re planning, bring it on.

Nice user pic. I should have known that if i had mine long enough there would be strange riffs on it.

Well, I've been using it since a couple of days after I saw Not Fade Away, and I've never noticed your icon before, but hey, if you want to think of me as ripping you off, be my guest.

Sorry,no ripping i said riffing as in jazzriff, jamming.Inspired building on something else. As i have no idea where i got my pic, and i certainly did´nt construct it i would never say anything about ripping. I thought you seen it elswhere and done something of your own out of it and i found it to be a clever take on mine. Now that i think about i must have seen it before but this was the first time i conected the two.

No worries - it's a direct quote from the episode, and possibly the definitive Illyria quote, so I'd be surprised if there weren't others around.
