Security Problem revisited

I'm thinking of reposting this drabble with the viewpoint changed to West Wing characters, to match the other stories in the sequence. The original story is here:

http://www.tthfanfic.com/story.php?no=3705

The rewrite is here:

100-Word BtVS / West Wing Crossover Drabble. BtVS early season 7, West Wing season 2-3, no spoilers. All characters are the property of their respective creators, and are used without any intention of infringing copyright in the original works. This story may not be distributed on a profit-making basis. Sequel to Intervention and Last Rites

Note: This story was originally told from Buffy's point of view. Since the rest of the sequence use the viewpoint of West Wing characters I've decided to change it to match the rest.

Security Problem

by Marcus L. Rowland

"I'm sorry, your clearance hasn't arrived. Everyone else can take the tour, you'll have to wait."

The class enters the White House, leaving a petite blonde. Charlie introduces himself, says "This way please," and leads her to Leo's office. "Miss Summers? I'm Leo McGarry, the President's Chief of Staff."

"And..?"

"If arrested, Miss Rosenberg will be unconditionally pardoned."

"Okay... that all?"

"This belonged to one of the President's ancestors." He hands her a box, an antique silver crucifix.

"It's beautiful."

"It's yours. You'd better catch up with your sister's class."

He wonders when she'll notice it's signed by Paul Revere.

Let me know which version you prefer.

Not a case of which I prefer in a writerly sense, because they both are wonderful. But I like the WW POV because of the Leo snark.

I really like this one over the original. It flows a little better and the kick at the end is a better kick. (Bostonian here...)

Then again, I'm rather hooked on your WW/BtVS drabbles. (Went over to TtHM and read them).

Definitely prefer the second one. It just feels so Leo-like.
