Snow horror day 2

A nice bright day, cold but no more snow. School website wasn't showing a closure, and I could see frequent trains on the underground, so I went in to work by train. VERY fast journey, they seemed to be running more trains than usual, but when I got there I found that the school was closed - couldn't even go in and tidy things up, the building was locked.

Coming back took about three times as long, of course... When I got home I found an email telling me that there was a directive from the educational authority (presumably) closing the school. Which is odd because transport is in general much better than it was yesterday - some of the underground lines are running reduced services but buses seem to be back to normal.

Oh well, I shall somehow live with my disappointment...

Odd, the message in Kent is for all schools to open if humanly possible, especially primary schools it has to be said. Apparently this is so that parents aren't forced to stay home to look after their children. The small one in the houses' school is open today, but the bus service isn't running so it's only for people who could get there. Today he hates the fact that we own an SUV with avengence! Yesterday it was closed to day pupils as they couldn't get enough teachers in (we were told by the Head while sat in the quad...)

Don't ask me, I can't explain it.

Oh them silly londoners. One snowflake on the ground and the whole city grinds to a halt. :D

Worst snow in 20 years, apparently, but I agree - it's nothing compared to the sort if snow we used to get when I were a lad...

This is why you need an iPhone. You NEED it!

And when exactly on my underground journey would I be able to pick up my email if I had an iPhone? No signal on most of that route.
