BSG Finale

So - a bit anticlimactic, perhaps. Just a couple of minor thoughts...

Anyone else think that

1: James P. Hogan and a whole raft of other bad SF authors are going to sue?

2: Baltar and Six have become Crowley and Aziraphale?

also

3: Kara is the Holy Ghost

[livejournal.com profile] rahirah describes it as Battlestar Galactica turning out to be the Golgafrinchan 'B' ark.

Yup. The whole "chuck all our technology away" thing is deeply silly.

Except the ones who settled Atlantis :)

Damn. I'm avoiding spoilers, but it sounds like pretty much everybody has been disappointed to a greater or lesser extent by how it finished.

I didn't think James Hogan was a bad sf author. An idiot, possibly, a crank, maybe, but I like his stories when they're not preaching at me.

One of his books is on similar lines to the ending. David Weber has been there too, and a load of other authors.

It's an elaboration of the hoary old, "and it turns out they were Adam and Eve" story, a trope so common that SF magazines have listed it as among the story ideas they won't even look at anymore.

I thought the two at the end were the head!characters, and them as Crowley and Aziraphale really works.

Yes - I explicitly meant the head characters.

Funnily enough I said item 2 to M at the end. :)

YES! Baltar and Six are totally Crowley and Aziphale, that was seriously my first thought during the end bit.
