Octodog

I've come across links to the Octodog several times now, and would rather like to buy one, but I get the impression that the company has gone out of business - they don't reply to mail, their site hasn't been updated in a long time, and the order button doesn't work. What really surprises me is that nobody is selling the things on eBay.

Does anyone have any firm evidence that these were ever actually sold? Or is it some sort of elaborate joke? If they are real, can anyone point me at a source that can actually sell me one (preferably in Britain)?

Thanks = pretty much how I assumed you'd do it, I'll have to give it a try. I'd like to do this with vegetarian hot dogs which may add another level of complication, I doubt that the textures are identical.

They do say they'll do international shipping worldwide... except to Italy.
