Halloween Drabble

I can't believe how many people have written "Xander becomes incredibly powerful at Halloween" stories. So here's my take on the subject...

"It's bloody odd," said Giles. "During Ethan's spell every vampire in Sunnydale vanished, except Angel."

"And the Hellmouth's closed," said Angel, "can't feel it at all."

"It's not just Sunnydale," said Willow. "There's e-mail from the Watcher's Council, all demonic activity worldwide has stopped."

"Here's an odd one," said Buffy, reading the paper, "the Mayor spontaneously died of old age."

"I can't feel my demon," Angel realised. "Hey! I'm breathing."

"How could Ethan's spell do all that?"

"I can explain," said a senior, walking into the library.

"And you would be...?" asked Giles.

"God. But you can call me Oz."

Seriously, all those challenges are coming from the XanderZone list. Only a portion are making off list onto FF.net and other sites. A lot of cross-overs with anime or comic books. It drives a few of the people on the XZ list a little nuts (me included), so I tend to ignore them.

yes, there's one person on TTH who keeps posting them, and the plot is basically "Xander becomes someone insanely powerful out of anime. The end." Gets a bit wearing, which is why I wrote this story.

I suspect that the person concerned won't even realise that this makes no sense, since Oz only wore the Oz label as a result of the original Halloween episode.

I must admit I steer clear of all the Xander-becomes-immortal/a mutant/invincible crossovers on TTH as the whole point of Xander is that he's normal.

Plus there's generally a whole lot of Buffy/Willow/Giles/Angel bashing going on.

Personally I think Bridges is the perfect example of how to write a Xander-centric story and not lose who he is along the way.
