Hmm.... too many memes?

I've obviously done too many of those TV series memes, because I saw a post on rec.arts.sf.fandom about a VERY expensive and large amateur / pro telescope and my first comment was:
Why do I suddenly find myself imagining a TV series about a retired trucking millionaire turned amateur astronomer who drives his rig and telescope from one eclipse site (or other astronomical event) to the next, fighting crime en route.

Someone really ought to make it...
So... Casting? Not Burt Reynolds or James Garner, they're both a bit too old. And the hero needs to have a crew of assistants / plucky friends / whatever, or it's not going to be much of a show.

Bruce Campbell.

Works for me. What about the plucky assistants etc. (and villains etc.)?

Is Greg Evigan available? He'd probably need a new chimp, though.

I don't think I've ever seen anything he's in, which doesn't inspire much confidence.

He was the non-chimp half of a "trucker and chimp" team in a US TV series many years ago, who in later episodes ran a trucking company.

Hm? If you were writing the scripts, maybe it would be worth watching... :-)

Doubt it, somehow, there aren't THAT many predictable and interesting astronomical events every year.

Of course that didn't stop Heroes etc. having eclipses etc. as the plot needed them. OK, I guess I could do it...
