QR code for Forgotten Futres

[livejournal.com profile] gbsteve mentioned something called QR codes, which smartphones can read and use to access web sites.

So I found a site with a code generator and made this:

It ought to link to my Forgotten Futures site - does it?

Yes!

(I was very impressed during my recent trip to Istanbul to find (a) free wifi in the historic area and (b) QR codes on information plaques that sure enough led to web pages with more information.)

Thanks - I shall have to start including it in my flyers etc.!

Works for me on my phone. Took me to your web page, though via an intermediate page which offered to show me a version optimised for mobile, which I declined. You page seemed perfectly readable on my Android browser.
By the way, I noticed a typo on the top para of 2nd column, On the Martian Way, where it says "David Salo has very kindly given me the test of an excellent 1907 story", shouldn't that be "text"?

Thanks, I'll fix it tonight - can't log into that from work.

Doesn't work on my Blackberry - get the same result as via Thunderbird on the desktop - ie opens a picture.

I didn't know Blackberries had cameras. When did that change?

I think you have to have an appropriate app to use them.
