Xmas feel-good fun. or not...

Was anyone else really disappointed with the Xmas episodes of Eureka and Warehouse 13? Just... well, not especially good, and turned out not to be connected stories, which I was hoping for since they aired the same evening.

I was kind of annoyed by the Eureka ep; the little tag clip seems to imply Jack really was talking about actual events, at least in part, but when the heck was it supposed to've been set? They haven't had a Christmas in Eureka since the time travel, yet everyone was in their new jobs-- which, okay, I could believe as him fitting a real story into the new world frame so as not to confuse the kids. But then Allison referred to Jenna liking apple pie within the story ....?? How old is she supposed to be now, anyway?

It disappointed me, since my favorite part was Jo-as-Secret-Santa, and if the rest of the story was made up out of whole cloth then that part probably was too, and then what was the point of the tag?

That's pretty much it - plus there was very little dramatic tension in either story.

They haven't been shown on Syfy in the UK yet. We get Eureka next week and Warehouse 13 on Christmas Eve. (The season finale was last night.)

From the trailers, I guessed there might be continuity problems.

Wonder if they got the idea from the Doctor Who Christmas specials, which at least fit into the continuity.
