RIP Nicholas Courtney

It looks like someone got around to getting the BBC to confirm that Nicholas Courtney (The Brig. in Doctor Who) has died:

I knew it was probably true, but while there was no official announcement I was hoping someone had got things wrong.

How sad! He was a really wonderful character and dominated the scene for many years.

A lot of younger viewers won't remember him, of course, but it's a real loss.
