Another reason to travel first class which I forgot to mention - WiFi access is free on Virgin trains first class, whereas they charge in standard class.

Admit it, you're just too lah-di-dah for economy class seats, all that second rate upholstery :-P

It really does spoil you, I admit it - comfy seats, free food, WiFi, it all adds up. The trouble is I never seem to get a deal like that on a long journey, e.g. to Scotland where it would be really useful.

As far as I'm concerned it's space, I don't care about upholstery. On trains nearly as much as airlines (I will not now travel cattle-class on airlines at all).
