Asteroid sizes again

I decided to go with a real picture of the Moon and shaded blobs for the asteroids in the end:



Since there appear to be no better pictures of the asteroids it ought to do.

later: Realised that the Moon picture is in copyright, not a public domain NASA image, so I've substituted one I took last year. Not quite as good, but it's going to be reproduced fairly small anyway so I don't think it matters much.

Wikipedia has a photo of Ceres (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ceres_(dwarf_planet)) (via Hubble) at least. Pretty blurred but still.

Having said that, today's Apod picture is a really good picture of Eros. But there's nothing comparable for the "big four" asteroids as far as I know.

I think those 4 are just fine. We'll have a real map of Ceres soon, but not in time for your game though.

I'm looking to get it out at the end of this year or early next year - will there be anything that soon?

It will reach Vesta in 2011 and Ceres in 2015. So not soon enough for you to use in the game. Sorry.
