Hello pounding headache....
Aug. 24th, 2008 03:13 pmThe Notting Hill Carnival is in full swing and as noisy as ever. I live on the outskirts, and it's got to be past a hundred decibels intermittently, with low-frequency vibrations that set off car alarms and shake the house. The streets here aren't too bad right now, but will be later when people start heading home.
It occurs to me that in four years London will have the Olympics and the Notting Hill Carnival going on pretty close together - I don't think they actually overlap, the games start at the end of July, but I could be wrong on that. It will not be a fun time to actually live in London and have little or no interest in sport or carnivals...
