Meme-Free Zone

This is the first part of a story set in the universe of my Supergirl Returns series, a variant DC universe with multiple crossovers, although Supergirl is not the main character in this story. Previous stories are archived:

This is a multiple crossover – the main fandoms are the DC universe and CSI, others will be noted at the end of chapters as they appear in the stories, with more detailed notes at the end. All belong to their creators, publishers, production companies etc., not to me, and there is no intent to infringe on copyright or deprive them of income. This story may not be distributed on a profit-making basis.

Note: Earlier stories set in the Supergirl Returns series have referred to a CSI TV show. However, it isn’t the CSI show we know, and characters are completely different, though modelled very loosely on the real Las Vegas crime lab. Whose staff happen to be the people we know from our CSI TV show… In CSI terms this is some time after Gil Grissom left Las Vegas, but well before the show ended.

S2 of Supergirl will cast a former werewolf (Teen Wolf’s Tyler Hoechlin) as Clark Kent (but apparently only for a couple of episodes), and a former Wonder Woman (Lynda Carter) as the US President. Also some other familiar DC characters have been cast, e.g. Snapper Carr and Maggie Swayer. Looks like it'll be fun!

The Supergirl pilot episode has apparently been leaked - haven't seen it yet but by all accounts it's pretty good, much better than the trailer.

This is a story fragment that was originally going to be part of my Supergirl Returns series, but I couldn't get the plot to develop past these opening scenes; I think that there will be a NUMB3RS crossover in the series eventually, just not one that starts quite this way.

It may help if you've read the previous story, Five Dates Supergirl Didn’t Enjoy… And One She Did and the first part of Cat Chaser; This starts two days after the first part ends, and may not make a lot of sense it you haven't read it. I hadn't originally intended to follow up on the ending of Cat Chaser, but by popular demand this will eventually be posted as a second chapter on archives etc.

Supergirl Returns series #9. This is a Castle / Hancock / DC movieverse / Batteries Not Included crossover, set in a world where Supergirl visited earth during Superman’s absence (his trip to Krypton in Superman Returns), returned a year or so after he did, and now lives as Linda Lee in Los Angeles.

Multiple crossover; DC Movieverse / NCIS / Bones, in a setting where Supergirl visited Earth a few months after Superman left for Krypton (Superman Returns) and returned to Earth in 2008. For NCIS and Bones we're in the current series.
