Pick any story I've written, or, in the case of my longer, chaptered works, any chapter from any story I've written, and comment to this post with that selection. I will then give you the equivalent of a DVD commentary on that snippet: what I was thinking when I wrote it, why I wrote it in the first place, what's going on in the character's heads, why I chose certain words, what this moment means in the context of the rest of the fic, lots of awful puns, and anything else that you’d expect to find on a DVD commentary track.

My stories are on these sites:

When you see this, share 3 random lines from 3 WIPs.

From a Thor crossover (in which Darcy is explaining fanfic to Jane)

“In a Soulmark AU you’d probably have a birthmark the shape of Mjolnir, or his words when you first met, and he’d have a mark that looked like… something science-ey, one of your equations or something.”

From a DC universe multiple crossover (In which Earth is about to get its first Green Lantern)

She’d never really thought about the implications of the word ‘alien’ until she looked inside the wrecked ship. The pilot was definitely not human; humanoid, yes, in having two arms and two legs, two eyes and a mouth, but there the resemblance ended. His(?) skin was purple, creased and lined in ways unlike any human face. He wore a green, white and black costume, and his head turned towards her, weakly, as she pried open the canopy.

From an Avengers crossover with some particularly silly conspiracy theories I'll probably never complete.

The guard backed out and Loki studied the scroll, wondering if Odin had somehow broken from his forced Odinsleep and controlled the raven, in some plot to regain control of Asgard. It was rolled up, held closed by a red ribbon and a dark green wax seal. One side of the seal showed a woman in heavy robes sitting on a throne, holding a mace and wearing a crown, surrounded by a circle of tiny letters, the other a complicated coat of arms. He concentrated, and used a tiny portion of his power to translate the words into All-Speak. “Elizabeth II, by the Grace of God, of the Britons and her other realms Queen, Head of the Commonwealth of Nations, Defender of the Faith.” He tried to remember; the Britons were one of the Midgard tribes, of course, the ones living on that ridiculous little island to the north. They’d had some sort of empire, he thought, but since it wasn’t mentioned on the seal he doubted it still existed.

Seen several times, most recently on [livejournal.com profile] selenak's blog.

- Bold all of the following TV shows of which you've seen 3 or more episodes.
- Italicize a show if you're positive you've seen every episode.
- Asterisk * if you have at least one full season on tape or DVD
- If you want, add up to 3 additional shows (keep the list in alphabetical order).

AO3 meme from [livejournal.com profile] selenak and [livejournal.com profile] misachan

Account created: 2010-04-12
Total stories: 109

Total wordcount: 750,073
Average wordcount: 6881 (average - there are a few drabbles which bring it down.)
Longest story: Family Issues (64329 words) Buffyverse / Men In Black, a rather odd Real Family story, W/T and B/S
Shortest story: The Immigrant Problem, (200) Lensman novels / Battlestar Galactica. Also lots of 100-word drabbles.

Total kudos: 660
Kudos per story: 6 (again, averaged) A lot of my stories were posted over a short period a long time after originally written, so didn't get much feedback, and a lot are short / single chapter which again brings this down.
Story with most kudos: With Friends Like These (58), Dr. Who / lots of other fandoms drabble sequence.

Total comments: 114 (this is comment theads, not comments - mostly, though, there is one original comment and one reply per thread)
Comment threads per story: 1 (again, a lot of early stories didn't get comments)
Story with most comments: Another Path, (12 threads, 28 comments) Avengers / Young Wizards.

Total author subscriptions: 25
Total story subscriptions: 30
Story with most subscriptions: Give the Boys a Great Big Hand (18), Dexter / NCIS / Burn Notice, others. Not surprising since it's the story I've updated most regularly since joining AO3, and it's popular on most sites.

Total bookmarks: 105
Story with most bookmarks: Another Path (10) again,

Stories with no comments or kudos:
Coffee, Croissants, and Cheekbones (Supergirl / Bones / Highlander / CSI) (960 words) This one I don't quite understand, it was moderately popular elsewhere.
Pre Emptive Strike (Harry Potter - Rowling, Terminator - All Media Types) (305 words) Old story
Phone Trouble (Angel: the Series, Constantine (2005), Hellblazer) (823 words) Old story
and several drabbles.

Here's a meme I've seen several times before (and have done once before); since it seems to be going around again (most notably seen in the capable hands of [livejournal.com profile] selenak and [livejournal.com profile] curiouswombat) I thought I'd give it another shot.

1) Make a list of fifteen characters first, and keep it to yourself for the moment.

2) Ask your f-list to post questions in the comments. For example: "One, nine, and fifteen are chosen by a prophecy to save the world from four. Do they succeed?", "Under what circumstances might five and fourteen fall in love?", "Which character on the list would you most want on your side in a zombie invasion?"

3) After your f-list has stopped asking questions, round them up and answer them using the fifteen characters you selected beforehand, then post them.

I've written a list of characters, to make it interesting each is from a different fandom I've written for, and all of them are characters I've actually written about to the extent of giving them dialogue or describing their actions.

Want to ask questions about them? Here's the list of fandoms fanfiction.net thinks I've written for, it's actually a lot more but I'll limit myself to this subset:

Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Angel, Sandman, West Wing, Stargate: SG-1, Buffy X-overs, Harry Potter, Batman, StarTrek: Deep Space Nine, Pirates of the Caribbean, X-overs, Marvel, Men In Black, Lois and Clark, Highlander, CSI: Miami, Doctor Who, Book X-overs, Superman, Torchwood, Misc. Movies, Babylon 5, NCIS, Bones, Batman Begins/Dark Knight, Young Wizards, Wallace and Gromit, Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles, Hancock, Avengers, Supergirl, Ghostbusters, CSI, Wildstorm Heroes, Misc. Comics, Misc. Books, Misc. Tv Shows, Superman, Dogma, Vertigo, Green Lantern, Lord of the Rings, Mission: Impossible, Terminator, St. Trinian's, Thunderbirds, Smallville, Janet Evanovich, X-Men, Wonderfalls, Captain Scarlet, CSI: New York, MI-5/Spooks, CHIPs, Veronica Mars, Constantine, Perry Mason, Watchmen, Dead Like Me, TV X-overs, Doom, Dexter, Movie X-overs, Scooby Doo, James Bond, Sarah Jane Adventures, Battlestar Galactica: 2003, Austin Powers, Discworld, Good Omens, Space 1999, True Blood, Zombie Survival Guide, Twilight, Supergirl, Castle, and Avengers.

I'll do the answers tomorrow or as soon as I have enough prompts to make it worthwhile.

Note - to avoid gender and other biases I've used the randomiser at random.org to randomise the list.

OK - now closed - posting the answers momentarily

Fanfic meme nicked from [livejournal.com profile] selenak

Ask my characters a question. I make you no promises they'll tell the truth, however...

"My characters" for the purpose of this meme meaning characters I've written prominently in fanfiction, from any fandom. My complete oeuvre of fanfic is here if you want to check if I've written any given character.

Weird idea I had for a fanfic meme...

Give me a brief story idea from one or more fandoms I'm likely to know, but don't NAME the fandom(s) and keep character names down to a mimimum e.g. Sam, Kara, etc. Avoid unique character names such as Legolas, Frodo, Superman, etc. and unique terms such as Wincest.

I will try to write a ficlet, drabble, or whatever that fulfils the letter of what you ask for but completely subverts the spirit - for example, someone asking for "Sam and Dean slash" might get a story in which Sam Gamgee becomes Dean Rusk's budget adviser...

I have no idea how well this will work - let's say that I'll attempt replies to the first five prompts.

Gacked from [livejournal.com profile] speakr2customrs who got it from [livejournal.com profile] firefly124, who gacked it from [livejournal.com profile] karaokegal:

Go look at your blog. Find the last Fandom-related thing you posted. The characters in that post are now your team-mates in the Zombie Apocalypse. How fucked are you?

OK, the last specific bit of fanfic I posted included Horatio Caine (CSI), Dexter Morgan (Dexter), and Kenny the immortal kid psychopath from Highlander. I'm probably fucked, since Kenny will cheerfully kill anyone that inconveniences him, Horatio Caine will run out of ammo after the first five minutes, and Dexter isn't really working with his usual skill set (but might be good with a chainsaw) and probably doesn't care much about keeping me alive.

OTOH, since I posted that I've linked to a My Little Pony / Serenity crossover vid, and I suspect that that combination could take on the zombie apocalypse easily...

[livejournal.com profile] selenak posted this meme -

1) Comment to this and (if you want) I will give you 3 (fictional) people.
2) Post this meme to your LJ with your answers.
3) Provide pictures/text descriptions and the names of the 3 people.
4) Label whom you would shag, marry and (push off a) cliff.

So the characters she gave me were Jessica Jones (Marvel Comics), Diana (Wonder Woman) and Faith (from BTVS)

Given that all three can probably survive being pushed off a cliff, and are much more likely to be the ones doing the pushing, this is not an easy choice...

Decisions, Decisions... )
So... comment below saying "meme me" and I'll give you three names. I might listen if you express a preference for gender...

From [livejournal.com profile] honorh

The rulz are simple: I have a list of 15 characters whom you will not see until the answers are posted. Post a wacky questions like "3 and 8 are trapped in a cave-in; how do they survive?" and I'll try come up with wacky answers.

My extra rules:

You can post more than one if you like, but I only guarantee to reply to one per person commenting.

I'll start answering when I think I have enough situations and different people commenting.

Later Characters 4,7,9,11,12,14 have yet to be used. And it doesn't have to be a life or death situation, of course, it could be comedy, romance, etc.

Later Just 7,9,14 left unused

ALL USED - see this post for my replies
