Blahhh!

The dreaded virus (whatever the hell it is that's been sweeping through staff at my school) has finally caught up with me. Probably just a bad cold but it feels worse, so I'm taking a day or two off work and hoping that if I keep warm and taking aspirins and fluids I'll be able to get some writing done.

Not looking for sympathy here - I'm pretty sure it'll go away in a day or two - but I do wonder why the hell we've evolved so that a relatively minor illness can zap us this way.

The illness is evolving too you know, it's 'cos we've got an evolved immune system that it is just minor.
