Finally got round to writing up my DIY lab laser thing, if anyone's interested here are a couple of pictures, the first shows how it's built (no expense expended, e.g. it's built around a cheapo laser pointer embedded in plasticine, and all of the other components apart from the box are lab junk etc.), the second shows it in ray box mode with a prism - not focused as clearly as I'd like due to the difficulty of getting the laser beam to stay visible in the photo, and also not quite adjusted right when I took it - the beam isn't quite parallel to the long axis of the box.









If anyone wants to read the full DIY instructions (a VERY boring Word file) email me as marcus dot rowland at gmail dot com and I'll send it. But unless you actually want to build one of these things, and I can't imagine why anyone not in my job could possibly want to, it's deadly dull.
