Another flypast

Due to not very nice weather plus other commitments I wasn't able to go down to Buckingham Palace to get photos of the Trooping of the Colours fly-past, but I did take some pictures from my roof. This time some of the modern aircraft came my way, including a Nimrod, a Hercules, and the RAF Red Arrows formation flying team. LOTS of pictures, the quality of most isn't as good as I'd like - basically, they didn't come that close except for the Red Arrows - so I've cut and resampled most fairly small, you aren't losing much. Nevertheless the total file size is pretty huge.

BTW, the big planes are Hercules, VC-10, AWACS x2, and A-330 MRTT.
No Nimrods left in service, who needs long range/long endurance maritime patrol, it isn't like ocean surveillance is important!

Sorry, I tend to think that anything with that disk thingy is a Nimrod.

I'd thought you'd mistaken the VC-10, as the engines aren't all that obvious. Ironic that the failed Nimrod AEW didn't have a disc! :-)

I caught a sight of these on their way to the Mall when I was driving back from the supermarket - not in a position to whip out the camera, which is a pity as they were flying very low to keep under the cloud.

So thanks for doing it for me!

I was hoping to get the helicopters too, but they flew off further South and I only got a glimpse between buildings. I try to make a point of getting photos if I'm at home, the time is always pre-announced so it isn't hard to be on the roof ready at the right time.
