Think this speaks for itself:

Our bees are in danger again. Toxic chemical companies are trying to get their banned pesticides back on UK fields. Yesterday an application was submitted to the government asking them to lift the ban on bee-killing chemicals for some crops planted this autumn.

Bees don’t have a voice, but we do. Please can you sign the petition right now demanding that we keep the ban on bee-killing pesticides?

Hmm, yeah, I remember the ban was only a short term one last time, nowhere near enough time to actually provide enough data on whether or not the ban improved bee numbers or not.

The science of this is scary - I really don't want to see the bees messed up, let alone other species and whatever eats them.

Yeah, it's something that is way more pressingly urgent than governments seem to understand. But hey, nothing can get in the path of the big agri-corps massive profits.

I have signed (hoping it doesn't occur to them that IM postcodes are not actually within their jurisdiction...)

I have also pimped this on FB - not that I have a vast circle of people on my fL over there as I prefer t keep it to people I actually know, either here, or face to face.

Fortunately our bees are doing pretty well at present. I really don't know whether the pesticides in question are banned here, or simply not used.
