Further to this - now found a copy of Tourmaline's Time Cheques on abebooks - can't think why I didn't look there before, except that Anstey only recently went out of copyright and I've been waiting for that before using his work.

There does seem to be one copy of Fred T. Jane's "The Violet Flame" on sale at amazon.com, but by the time postage etc. is added it's going to be pretty expensive. Amazon.co.uk have another edition at about four times the price! I think I'll try a few other sites first.

Post to your LJ each day at least one of your favorite fanfic authors and why you love them, their work, and why they need more appreciation.

Well, I'll give it a go... My first choice is rozk, a long-time friend, author of some of the most intelligent fics. I've seen, as well as some very slashy slash, and the person who really got me into fanfic - and into Buffy, for that matter. Her characterisation and dialogue are usually faultless, and she deserves to be more widely known than she is.

See, for example, Dawn in Rome and her wonderful Cordyslash series Five Lovers Cordelia Never Had, or the very nasty AU stories Girl 1 and Girl 2

Later note: It's been pointed out that March 6-13 is a week, not a day. About half of the LJ entries I've seen on this have used the "day" version, and I cut and pasted without thinking about it. In practice I suspect that for me this is "an indeterminate period, probably in excess of a day but less than a week, before I lose interest or forget."
