Arrgggghhh again.

Started to swap hard disks and reinstall everything on my old Windows 98 PC at about 7 PM. Nothing went badly wrong, apart from a half hour or so wasted because I forgot to fdisk the hard disk and create a bootable partition (and why this wasn't an automatic part of the recovery process I'll never know) but as of now it's still not finished - and I'm still updating windows, installing drivers, etc., rather than installing the software I'll actually use.

But at least the damned thing is working, and for a while that looked doubtful.

Tomorrow I start searching for the receipt for the DVD recorder...
