Calling Occupants Of Interplanetary Craft

Just had a conversation with someone that reminded me of an article about SETI I wrote for Plokta in 2000 which (amongst other things) is the first reference I know of to case modding computers - albeit I was thinking more of spinning tape reels, Jacobs ladders, etc. and actually dismiss the Steampunk look as irrelevant to getting in touch with aliens.
