Nearly forgot to say...
Oct. 3rd, 2011 12:54 am...D'Artagnan's Daughter, which I personally rate as being almost as good as the first two Richard Lester Musketeer films, is finally available on Region 2 DVD. It has been for a while, but I only just noticed. Previously I've only seen it as a letterboxed laserdisc version, although there was apparently a region 1 DVD a few years ago as Revenge of the Musketeers.
I haven't had a chance to watch the DVD yet, apart from checking it's OK - my guess from what I've seen so far is that it's simply cleaned-up from the laserdisc version rather than remastered, so don't expect miracles. And I should point out, since Amazon don't, that it is French with optional English subtitles, not dubbed. If you speak French you can turn the subtitles off, which you couldn't with the laserdisc.
