Where are the White House lawyers?

 An obvious thought re Donald Trump's tweets on the New York cycle path attack - hasn't he just given the defence a perfect reason to reject all jurors because they will have all heard about it, and to appeal the death penalty (if imposed) because Trump has tried to influence that too?

In practice I doubt it matters this time because it looks like the guy wants to be a martyr, and Trump is helpfully giving him the publicity he craves for that. But sooner or later there will be a case where his interference will have serious consequences and I'd imagine that as usual he'll blame everyone but himself.
