I'm not really doing much with historical settings so most of these aren't a lot of use to me, but if you're working with a lot of different eras in e.g. a time travel campaign they might be worth a look. What I can't do is say how accurate they are since I'm not a professional historian, and with the possible exception of the Pinkerton's book none of them cover settings I'm especially interested in. But it's a cheap deal, you'll come out ahead if you only need two of the eleven books, so if you need any of them it's probably worth going for the whole package.

Anyone still using 15A plugs?

I picked up some cables that included an Apple mains lead (for laptop chargers etc.) with a huge old-style 15A type M round-pin plug. To clarify, this is an Apple-made lead and plug, not something that has been modified.



15A plugs were largely phased out for home use in Britain from the 1950s onward, because they are not nearly as safe as modern plugs and sockets, but are apparently still used for theatre lighting - they're also used in a few bits of the old British Empire, most notably South Africa and other African states, and a bit in India, Pakistan and Nepal.

My first thought was to sell it on eBay, but since I can't actually test it properly and wouldn't expect to make a profit on something that obscure I think I'd prefer to give it away, with preference to anyone who wants to take it off my hands without me having to post it, e.g. at the upcoming Eastercon.
