Another two repeat bundles - Champions 4E
Feb. 3rd, 2025 07:23 pmThese are two repeat bundles for Champions, one of the first superhero RPG, containing the 4th edition of the game from 1989-2001, and various supplements for it. It's currently on its sixth edition, but the fourth still has a lot of fans. Champions 4E Essentials contains the "Big Blue Book" and key supplements. Champions 4E Universe adds three dozen setting and villain books:

When these were originally offered back in 2017 I said
Although this stuff was published at least sixteen years ago, I think that it's probably must buys for anyone who doesn't already have the game - if you do, there's a lot to be said for having it in a form that doesn't need a small truck to carry it around. There are hundreds of fun ideas for superhero games, and most of them are easily transferable to other rules systems such as GURPS, Marvel, DC Heroes, etc.
I'd definitely be buying this if I wasn't on their freebies list - but of course your mileage may vary.
Since then there have been bundles for 5E and 6E, so it seems a little odd that 4E is on offer again. The best explanation I can offer is that a lot of people still like this version, and it's worth keeping it alive for newcomers who want to find a game or players easily. Both bundles contain a huge amount of material, and while they're not the cheapest of these bundles, they're well worth a look.
