WTF are British taxpayers paying George Galloway all this money to appear on Celebrity Big Brother?

WTF does anyone watch the show anyway? Damned if I can explain it.

Don't ask me, I don't get the whole thing, either.
And thanks for the coconut. :o)

... it's because he never shows up to vote anyway ...

according to www.theyworkforyou.com George has only attended 15% of votes in parliament (Tony Blair has only attended 13% but you can guess that sometimes he's busy, and sometimes he's not off galavanting around the world and staying at Cliff Richard's or some Italian's villa)

Which makes George 634th out of 645 MPs ...

And he has declared an income of 75-80,000 from his Mail on Sunday column.

At least in there he's not causing too much damage ...

... people watch the show for the same reason they watch "More Police Car Chases" and GrandPrix/F1 ... it's a delight in watching accidents happen to other people ... so putting a dozen annoying people (oh, ok, ten people) into a restricted space and then wait for them to chew each others face off ...

Big Brother versus Parliament

Is being on Celebrity Big Brother really all that different from attending parliament? It's all a giant popularity contest in which participants survive or fail based largely on arbitrary tabloid frenzy rather than any rational cause. Most of the people aren't ones you'd like to invite over to dinner. The average level of intellect is low; the participants shockingly ill-informed and, frequently, irrational bigots; the standard of debate is atrocious. It's cripplingly boring to watch, but many people do anyway, probably because there's always a chance of a sex scandal.

Yup, sounds like parliament to me...

I am afriad that I am unable to either...
But then I cannot afford the lobotomy necessary to comprehend the appeal of this drivel...
