Some back story for readers outside the UK - many years ago I worked part-time for Morgan Computers, who are the British PC world's answer to the Elephant's graveyard, the place where manufacturers send their old stock to die.

Three guesses what I saw in their window last night...

Not sure how this compares with new prices, but if I was after one of these I'd start by checking that the warranty is covered by Apple, not Morgans. No particular reason...

Nothing to see here -- it's a 1.8GHz, they're currently selling 2.0 in the dealership I dropped in on a couple of hours ago.

If it's a genuine factory re-work it'll have the full 12 months Applecare cover; if not, you can sue Morgan for false advertising/Sale of Goods Act.

If I was in London I'd buy one at that price, but as it is ...

I'm not worried about them lying about the warranty - a lot of their stuff has manufacturers warranty - it's just that they have no Apple background, so if Apple aren't supporting them I'd be inclined to keep clear.

Over here the 17" model has dropped off the Apple Store (see Macintouch for Feb 3). The G5 iMacs are getting shifted to make room for the Intel models.
