Another RPG bundle - True20

This all-new True20 Bundle presents True20, the streamlined d20-based RPG from Green Ronin Publishing. In True20, designer Steve Kenson builds on the d20 System with modifications he introduced in the First Editions of Green Ronin's Mutants & Masterminds (2002) and Blue Rose (2005). True20 streamlines some of the historical cruft the d20 System inherited from primordial D&D. For instance, d20 characters have ability scores in the 3-18 range that are then used to figure modifiers like +2 or -1; True20 removes the intermediate step and just rates abilities with the modifiers themselves. True20 uses only three character classes (expert, adept, and warrior) and imposes no class restrictions on skills. Spells are treated as feats, and feats are available at every level. True20 also simplifies the d20 damage and experience systems. From the start, Green Ronin opened the True20 system to third parties under a permissive license. A dozen small publishers released standalone True20 games or settings, such as Lux Aeternum (High Rock Press), World of Nevermore (Expeditous Retreat), and Blood and Fists: Modern Martial Arts (RPGObjects). In 2008 Green Ronin produced a Revised corebook and character sourcebooks for the expert, adept, and warrior roles. None of these found much success, and nowadays Savage Worlds and Fate, among many others – including Green Ronin's own Mutants & Masterminds and AGE System – occupy that rules-medium, fast-playing niche. But the True20 line still sells on DriveThruRPG, and it holds respect as one of the most interesting variants to emerge from the d20 System boom.
This all-new True20 Bundle presents the 2008 Revised rulebook and its support line. We provide each title complete in .PDF. Like all Bundle of Holding titles, these ebooks have NO DRM (Digital Restrictions Management), and our customers are entitled to move them freely among all their devices.
Ten percent of each purchase (after gateway fees) goes to this True20 offer's pandemic-related charity, Direct Relief. Direct Relief sends protective gear and critical care medications to health workers, with emergency deliveries to medical facilities across the US and to regional response agencies across the world.
The total retail value of the titles in this offer is US$101. Customers who pay just US$7.95 get all three titles in our Core Collection (retail value $40) as DRM-free ebooks, including the complete True20 Adventure Roleplaying Revised Corebook (retail price $18) plus the True20 Campaign Planner (retail $7) and the Bestiary (retail $15).
Those who pay more than the threshold (average) price, which is set at $17.95 to start, also get our entire Bonus Collection with six more titles worth an additional $61, including the three "role" handbooks – Warrior's Handbook (retail $10), Adept's Handbook (retail price $12), and Expert's Handbook (retail $12) – and the supplements Fantasy Paths (retail $10), True Sorcery (retail $), and Cybernetics (retail $).
At a quick look they seem to have got their act together on simplifying the D20 rules, so if you want that and some degree of compatibility with Mutants and Masterminds it's probably worth a look. I'm not especially interested, but tastes differ.
