ffuturesFor various reasons I wanted to check what Lillly Potter was supposed to look like according to the films etc., and realised that she and James Potter (both about 21 at the time of their deaths) were played by much older cast - Geraldine Somerville (born 1967) and Adrian Rawlins (born 1958).
So by 2010, when Deathly Hallows 1 was released, she was 43 and he was 52. This isn't just a minor discrepancy - even allowing for the stress of war etc., both look way too old for the roles, and James is visibly balding.
There don't appear to be actors for them in the TV series cast, not surprising if they're starting with the first book, but I hope that they will try to get things right. Meanwhile, I've got the young Raquel Welch in that role in my current Harry Potter fanfic, and I think that's as good a mental image as any.
