I thought I'd see just how AU I could get in a hundred word drabble. The answer appears to be VERY.

AU for Veronica Mars from episode 1 onwards...

Friends Help You Move...

She looks at the body again and winces. There's not much of his head left.

"He was trying to kill me," she says to herself. "Not like I had a choice."

The trouble is.... The trouble is why he was trying to kill her. If the police find out she'll probably end up in jail.

She can't think straight... can't even understand how she fought him off. Except that somewhere in the back of her head a voice still asks "Are you ready to be strong?"

Lilly picks up her cell phone and dials. Veronica will know what to do.

I think I'm going to put this up on a couple of sites as a "what happens next?" challenge.

That was lovely! Very intriguing to think what could have been in this AU...

Concise, plausible, and — in terms of ‘Wow, what kinds of cool things could happen after that?’ — provocative.

Friends Help You Move... II

Friends Help You Move… II

There was too much blood to hope that they’d be able to clean it up. They needed a story to explain what happened… Veronica took a closer look at Lilly. There wasn’t a drop of blood on her. No one would believe that Lilly had done this.

“Okay, here’s what we say: You came home; you went up to your room; you put on a movie, and then you phoned to invite me to come over for a swim. We came out back together, saw the body, and I…” Veronica took out her cell phone. “…call my dad, the sheriff.”

Plausible if she threw him far enough to splatter, though I suspect that forensics might still find traces that transferred between them.

I was thinking more along the lines of one solid punch, which crushed his skull, but didn't cause any spattering. (Spattering usually happens from multiple blows.) The blood oozed out his ears and nose and such after he was already dead.

OK - I was visualising it differently but there's certainly wriggle room.
