Not quite on line at work

ffuturesFor some reason the computer I mostly use at work is currently refusing to connect to the internet - it's fine with the rest of the school's network, groupwise, etc. but I can't get browsers etc. to work. Every other computer in the place is fine, needless to say - but they all connect through a netnanny proxy server; my PC (not used by kids, and needing to occasionally connect to "criminal skills sites" on which such dastardly skills as "chemistry" are discussed) bypassed the proxy until this problem arose. I suspect the cause is trivial, but our IT bods are being a bit slow sorting it.
Anyway, what this means is that I probably won't be looking at my mail, livejournal etc. much during the day until this is sorted, so far I've been waiting more than ten days so don't hold your breath. If you need to get hold of me please be aware that there may be no reply until the evening.
