...is discovering that someone you were at school with and disliked, and who you would consider to be more famous than you are, has no Wikipedia entry, and does not appear to be mentioned in Wikipedia at all.

There is an almost overwhelming temptation to do something about this, which I will firmly resist.

Oh, it's a very minor thing, and there are plenty of other on-line sources that mention the guy so it's not like he's totally obscure. I just like the idea that at least one source has never heard of him.

Obviously your clues are 'He isn't on Wikipedia but can be found on the internet. He is around Marcus' age. He went to the same school as Marcus.' If you reckon yourself for a detective, that should be plenty. :-)
