Some more revelations, impending doom for someone that nobody likes anyway, and an old friend from Sunnydale turns out to be related to Hogwarts staff. I've now painted myself into so many corners with the plot of this one that it's going to take a hell of a leap to get free, but it's going to be fun trying.

Date: 2004-04-17 05:01 pm (UTC)It all seems to boil down to two incidents : the hiring of the hitman to get Harry and the Durmstrang Incident. What if the original attack on Harry wasn't necessarily meant to succeed?
If Harry had died, the wizarding world would have been in upheaval, and everyone would be taking a very close look at what happened. At the very least, Hermonie and Ron (where is Ron, btw?) would have gone looking into it. Eventually the trail would have led back to "Charlie Weasley", and thus the Durmstrang Incident even more eventually. As it is, Dawn intervened and Angel Investigations started looking into the matter. Have they accelerated the speed of the discoveries?
If the whole point of the Harry hitman was to get Durmstrang uncovered, then why now, after all these years? Drumstrang's gonna be re-built very soon after all - maybe now was the last chance to get something done before that evidence is destroyed. Is there something else at Durmstrang hidden somewhere? Their own Chamber of Secrets?
One thing that everyone's ignored so far is the badge given to Harry - it was magic, and got him to a certain place at a certain time for Furia to shoot at him. That yells magic involvement somehow - which again clicks with the easily detected later scenario.
And then there's Percy. Turning up very quickly at Gringotts, and in charge of security for the Muggle Activities Group at the Ministry during the war, while at the same time cuddling up to Voldie. Did Percy take over security after being discovered by Voldie, maybe? At the moment, Percy has the next set of answers.
Other lines of possibility : the blood sample from the raid. Could Willow use her magic and DNA technology to find out anything from that? At the very least, whether it was pureblood, muggle or something else? *heh* I suddenly have visions of Willow's computers producing a simulated picture, and everyone going "Draco Malfoy!"
And why the hell would Voldie want to attack Durmstrang and get the Baba against him? If anything he was winning right then - was the fuel-air bomb originally to be aimed at the Ministry, but someone (mystery blood guy?) change the co-ordinates?
Just musing out loud mainly here, Marcus. Feel free to ignore everything my fevered brain has come up with, and to tell me to go forth and multiply. Hopefully, I've been of some help and I look forward to future parts. *crosses fingers*
(Btw, part VI at TtH has the phrase “I'm not quiet sure.” in it).
