Given that any router I buy is likely to have more WiFi security modes than my elderly Netgear, which is the least insecure that's still moderately fast?
Make sure you have the latest Windows patch for WPA2 and you'll be set. Use AES instead of TKIP if you can, but at least use TKIP. The chances of having your WPA2 connection hacked are minimal, and if it happens, then just change the password and you're good.
Tkip Itself has been thoroughly broken. It yot use it dont expect better security than wep.
If your network cards dont support AES then yot either have to get new ones or put up with that level of security - theses no reason to not to have 2 interfaces in a computer if you cant remove the old one.
But as yot say yot pretty sure wpa2 is supported it not an issue.
