A post by
curiouswombat about a bizarre road accident on the Isle of Man reminds me that my 2-year-old grand nephew was watching some Thomas The Tank Engine episodes yesterday, and every time I looked up something seemed to be falling off a truck or a bridge, trains were running away, biplanes were crashing, bouulders were running down the railway lines, etc. etc., to an extent that I began to think that the island of Sodor must be in the Thunderbirds universe... You sure as hell wouldn't get me using public transport there...

No one could have predicted that ... nor the flames now consuming the lacquered-paper stadium in which it's being held. And right next to the new rocket base with its giant liquid-hydrogen and liquid-oxygen tanks ... better call in the Thunderbirds!
