I meant to go to the bank after I'd done some shopping today, and sort out the tenner I mentioned yesterday. But I bought a few things en route, and somewhere along the way I paid with the wrong tenner...

Oh well, it's an SEP1 now.

As I commented earlier, old notes don't bother retailers. If it had been a 1903 note, you might have gotten something above face value for it from a collector (if it was in uncirculated condition) but for a 2003 note, it's still new enough that all retailers (and banks) should treat it as normal money.
